For example, if you choose our 5 GB data plan, and you only use 3 GB this month, you keep the remaining 2GB to use next month on top of your normal monthly allowance.

Package Plans

Kinect offer range of package plans that include both Data (speed) and connection costs. Unused data cannot be carried forward on our Package Plans. All prices shown include a $10 bundle discount for customers who have Kinect Phone and/or TrustPower Electricity.

1GB This plan allows you to manage your costs and only choose to buy more data when required. After your 1GB has been used, you will be slowed to dial up speed but you can logon any time and purchase more data. It’s a great option to manage your broadband budget and ideal for general daily mail and internet use. Unused data does not carry forward on this plan.
This great low cost full speed plan allows you to have fast internet, even if you are a light user. It’s ideal for general daily mail and internet use without sacrificing speed. And don’t forget, if your 1 GB has been used, you can either be slowed to dial up speed or logon any time and purchase more data.
Kinect's 4 GB special plan is a great, general purpose family plan that will suit moderate web users. You can log in at anytime and purchase more data if required, however, unused data does not carry forward on this plan.
If speed is important and you regularly use the internet then our 10 GB Special Plan is for you. It’s ideal if you like to send or receive mail with large attachments, regularly buy music or movies or use the internet for online gaming. Unused data does not carry forward on this plan.

Big User Plans

Kinect has introduced 6 new plans with big data allowances of 20-100GB per month. For bigger users these plans are a cheaper way of buying data, and you can buy extra data if you need it. Unused data can't be carried forward with these plans.

Unlimited Plans

Kinect Unlimited Broadband Plans are managed differently than our "Don't lose it if you don't use it" and packaged plans. On unlimited plans there are no data caps and no excess data charges. This means that you can download unlimited amounts of data, but it also can mean some congestion, typically between the hours of 3pm to 11pm, but sometimes at other times as well.

We manage the congestion by managing the traffic for users on all unlimited plans during this time, and at other times when our system shows that there is congestion. During managed periods, priority is given to email and web browsing. All other traffic will see reduced speeds.
So, for people who download a lot of data and would like a Full Speed / Full Speed or a 256 / 128 connection, this can be a great plan. Remember though, at times of congestion, there will be some reduced speed.
If an Unlimited plan does not suit you, you can choose from our other competitively priced package plans or even a speed plus data plan where you can bank your unused data.
With Kinect package plans and speed plus data plans, speed is either reduced after you have used the data volume that you have signed up for, or you can choose an auto purchase option. We sometimes manage traffic during times of congestion on these plans but this is less common than on unlimited plans.

What if I need more data before the end of the month?

Some internet companies make you buy your whole month’s allowance if you run out before the end of the month. Kinect is different – if you run out you can buy another 0.5, 1, 5 or 10GB, either automatically, or when you choose to – and if you don’t use it all, the remainder is still there next month*. Or, if you prefer, once you’ve used your broadband data allowance we’ll cut you back to dial up speed for the rest of the month.

* Unused data cannot be carried forward on the Package Plans or the Big User Plans.
